Learn all about the life cycle of Amanita muscaria using red balloons and tissue paper! This sheet provides a step by step guide to the activity and a life cycle illustration explaining how the spots are formed on the mushroom cap.
This sheet contains colourful images and the common names of a variety of fungal fruit bodies, and is a great way to get children enthused about finding fungi in the wild. There is also a QR code included which links to the 'Found a Fungus?' link on the main website, where you can access a selection of images and guidebook/app suggestions to help you learn about any other fungi that you find.
Originally drawn by the team at Planet Science, this mask can be printed, coloured in and cut out - an excellent past time for younger siblings whilst older siblings have a go at using yeast to make bread or have a go at the 'watch a fungus fizz' experiment.
We are asking primary school children to draw their favourite fungus - Make it colourful and tell us a little about it if you can! A4 size is preferable and easier to post to us to us but A3 is also acceptable. We will return the pictures if you include a self addressed envelope.
